June 1st at The Portage Theater, we will be hosting a once in a lifetime opportunity to see two of the greatest Kung Fu films ever made via 35mm prints! First up we will have a 35MM PRINT of THE FISTS OF THE WHITE LOTUS!!! Starring three of the most legendary Kung Fu forces in the history of cinema GORDON LIU, LO LIEH and LIU CHIA-LIANG! Witness Acupuncture style Kung Fu in glorious 35mm! Next up, we will be flying out Dan Halsted, the archive director of the 35mm Shaolin Archive, who will discuss their collection, preservation efforts and their goal to increase cultural awareness of Kung Fu cinema in America. The Chicago Cinema Society is incredibly honored to be able to present a 35MM PRINT of MASTER OF THE FLYING GUILLOTINE!!!!! This masterpiece of Kung Fu cinema is scarcely screened in America! You will have a once in a lifetime (no exaggeration) opportunity to see it in 35mm on June 1st at The PORTAGE THEATER!!
