Starting off day 3 with an excellent and unique movie called Sound of Noise direct from Sweden. The show began with the short film that the movie is based.
6 drummers who do not want to conform to the Swedish ideal of music, in this case Hayden (i.e. classical), come together as a band of musical terrorists and set out to change the ideas of what music is in mainstream society. Hot on their heals is detective Amadeus Warnebring who comes from a family of famous musicians and composers. The drummers use found objects to make music out of common and uncommon alike. They set up their their musical missions in 4 acts and advertise them in town, effectively a clever warning for “the man.” Detective Warnebring figures out that, unlikely as it is, he is affected in an unusual way by the drummers playing the objects.
Sound of Noise was entertaining, cute, and will likely be the darling of the festival.
