I had expected MvM to be just a straight up sports comedy but turns out they actually tried to force a plot into this mess. A little person, who is rich from being a porn producer dies he leaves money to his too young wife and his kid but they have to compete by getting a team of 5 midgets and 5 mascots together to do so many wacky events in X amount of days.
From there it’s actually a documentary of sort, Borat-style where they film in real life locations, unbeknown to the people around them. So it opens it up to being funny because not only is it a batch of little people and mascots in one spot but they also do stunts like go to a rodeo to catch a pig and ride a mechanical bull, have a milk drinking contest in a restaurant complete with much puking, totally racist conversations in a southern food restaurant and more.
While I did actually laugh out loud a few times on the whole this movie is about as funny as you’d expect…not enough. I think with a lot more beers and more people around it might be worth a view but just on your own with a drink or two in you…it ends up being kind of boring, even with the Gary Coleman jokes and Scottie Pippin getting smacked in the head with a phone.
