I had sort of blown off watching ROTLD 2 only because it looked like it might be total cheesedick, but actually it turned out to be completely excellent. I was impressed with all the practical effects and zombie makeup.
The plot is simple and silly, with the toxic waste falling off the back of a military truck, having kids release the gas and the dead rising. But all of that is made up for with a terrific ride of a film, some really funny lines from the kids and people in the movie and an impressive movie all around.
It took me a while but I finally figured out that the redhead girl in the film was one of the two main love interests of Weird Science and was also in Night of the Creeps.
So despite my expectations ROTLD2 ended up being one of the better horror films I’ve seen in a while. I love nice surprises like that!
