Not Melville’s strongest, but still a good watch. Alain Delon is brilliant as usual, and a French-speaking (dubbed I assume) Richard Crenna is an interesting choice as well. The only thing that really detracts from the film is the fairly flimsy miniatures work involving a train and a helicopter. It’s a significant part of the movie and plot to be treated so poorly. I’m guessing it was shot this way due to budget issues, but who knows.
