I really wanted to like this movie a lot more than I did; the concept was right up my alley. Unfortunately, it felt only average, despite some great scenes, including the first ten minutes.
What it really felt like was a short film that got extended into a feature-length movie. Lo and behold, that’s pretty much what happened: a 13 minute short with the same title was released in 2007 by the Trost Brothers.
Having said that, there’s still plenty to like here: it’s got a great early ‘80s trash aesthetic going on and two of the supporting actors turn in excellent performances (Art Tsu as KCDC and Lee Valmassy as L Dubba E).
Hopefully the Trost Brothers continue to make movies, because they display enough talent with The FP to make me want more.
