Much, MUCH better than I expected. Seriously. I have no attachment to the original, which I haven’t seen in 20 years but eager to revisit. I realize that this film doesn’t dive deep into the layers keeping most of story on the surface but that’s fine. It’s a different movie than the original and it works for me. I want to see it again.
